Project management – First phase Rivers Church – new Cornubia campus
Gareth Blanshard, owner of GRB Developments had the opportunity to provide comprehensive site project management services to Africa Surveys during the startup phase of the Rivers Church Cornubia Campus development. The scope of work encompassed full site establishment and preparation, water management, installation of piles and pile caps, construction of concrete columns, decks, gutter beams, and architectural feature walls, as well as management for the erection of the structural steel roof. Responsibilities included the coordination and supervision of all personnel and subcontractors, management of health and safety compliance, progress reporting, and overall project planning and execution to ensure adherence to programme.
Customized bar counter and shelving – Design and manufacture – Umbilo
We designed, manufactured and installed a custom bar counter and display shelving for an office premises. We spent some time and care working on this assembling it, taking apart and assembling it again at the premises on the install.
Customized fiberglass and carbon cloth table – Design and manufacture – Durban
A client asked us to design and manufacture a custom table to measure and cut fiberglass and carbon cloth. The table had to be wider and longer than a standard table with specialized rollers and guides. Along with this they needed brackets to hold heavy feed rolls of the materials. All items were designed and manufactured in house.
Wood deck -repair and restoration – Malvern
Clients deck was in need of some restoration and a fresh varnish. We started by removing and replacing a weather section of the deck. Followed by a full strip of varnish on the rails and floors. Then a two coat weather resistant varnish was applied.
Replacing old asbestos roof with IBR sheeting – Umbilo
We removed an old asbestos roof that was leaking and replaced it with Chromadek IBR sheeting. We also replaced the barge boards which had weathered over time.
Interior painting – Reservoir Hills
We gave a fresh new look to one of our clients homes with some rich coloured interior paint to the walls and ceilings throughout the home.
Shower revamp – Morningside
Revamp of leaking shower including full waterproofing, installation of a new water trap, and complete tile makeover.
Painting interior walls
We repainted the entire interior of our client’s house. With the stunning feature walls in the children’s bedrooms and dining area, we adding of value and homeliness for the family. Prior to painting, we prepared the walls by refilling dents and holes from screws.
Project Management: Kitchen revamp & Full house tiling project
We managed this full kitchen revamp, including re-tiling of the entire living area. After the old kitchen and scullery cupboards were removed by us, we started breaking out the old tiles. After the re-tiling, we managed the installation of the new kitchen including all electrical and plumbing work that had to be done. The clients were very pleased with the outcome of this beautiful and functional kitchen space!
Barn-door installation
Design, manufacturing, and installation of a custom-made wooden barn door with rail. All done by us!
Design, manufacturing, and installation of new bar counter
We designed a new fixed bar for a residence with under-counter shelving, a removable lock-up door, and a wood-cladding face. We added steel support for strength and stability. For the countertop, we repurposed an old wooden chemistry desk with a basin as a beer cooler 😉
